Colonels Academy, Katihar

Colonels Academy was privileged to welcome Mr. Jérôme Guyot, a researcher from France, currently pursuing advanced research in Tom Gur’s group at the University of Cambridge. His research domains include Quantum Computing, Cryptography, and Complexity Theory, and he is presently working on Probabilistically Checkable Proofs (PCP)—a cutting-edge area of theoretical computer science.

Mr. Jérôme Guyot visited the school along with Ms. Jahnavi Yadav, an alumna of ESSEC Business School, France, holding a Master’s degree in Management and currently working as a Project Manager at Marionnaud. The guests were formally introduced by the respected Principal, Mr. R. Andrew Sah, after which they interacted with students from Classes IV to X.

During the interaction, Mr. Jérôme shared valuable life lessons with students, emphasizing the importance of curiosity, continuous learning, passion, and dedication in achieving success. He encouraged students to remain inquisitive and open-minded while pursuing knowledge in any field they choose.

In the interactive question-and-answer session, students asked him about his future plans after completing his current research. Mr. Jérôme explained that he would soon begin his next research project, highlighting that learning is a lifelong process. Ms. Jahnavi Yadav thoughtfully explained his responses in a simple and relatable manner to help students understand complex ideas with ease.

For the junior students from UKG to Class III, Mr. Jérôme made the session lively and engaging by teaching them how to say “Hello” and “Thank you” in French, which delighted the young learners. Students also showed keen interest in knowing about the places he had visited in India, to which he shared his experiences of visiting Delhi and Katihar, Bihar.

The visit proved to be highly inspiring and educational, leaving a lasting impression on the students. It motivated them to learn with greater curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm, reinforcing Colonels Academy’s commitment to global exposure and holistic education.
