18 February 2026 | Colonels Academy

On 18 February 2026, Colonels Academy organised a special cultural programme in collaboration with SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth). The initiative aimed to introduce students to India’s rich classical traditions and deepen their understanding of the nation’s cultural heritage.

The highlight of the programme was a mesmerizing Kathak dance recital by renowned artist Rudra Shankar Mishra from Varanasi. His graceful movements, intricate footwork (tatkaar), and expressive abhinaya beautifully showcased the depth and elegance of this classical dance form.

He was accompanied by talented musicians Uday Shankar Mishra and Raghavendra Sharma, whose rhythmic and melodic accompaniment enriched the performance and captivated the audience.

The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment. Students and teachers watched attentively as the performance unfolded, gaining insight into the discipline, dedication, and spiritual essence embedded in Kathak.

The event proved to be both educational and inspiring, encouraging students to appreciate Indian classical arts not merely as performances, but as a meaningful way of life and cultural learning. The SPIC MACAY collaboration once again reflected Colonels Academy’s commitment to holistic and culturally rooted education.
