Renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali along with the other distinguished Chief Guests was presented bouquets by the students as a formal gesture of welcome and deep respect. The presentation reflected the school’s culture of honouring excellence and expressing gratitude.
After receiving the bouquets, the dignitaries were invited onto the stage, where they participated in the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising knowledge, enlightenment, and the auspicious beginning of the Foundation Day programme. The sacred ritual marked the formal inauguration of the event in a traditional and dignified manner.
The Chief Guest was then formally welcomed through a heartfelt address by the Principal. At 4:00 PM on 10 February 2026, renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali arrived at the school amphitheatre to grace the Foundation Day programme of Colonels Academy.
He was respectfully escorted to the venue by teachers, reflecting the institution’s discipline and tradition. Upon his arrival at the amphitheatre, students welcomed him with a ceremonial garland, symbolising honour and gratitude. A bouquet was also presented by the students as a mark of deep respect and admiration.
A significant highlight of the evening was the formal inauguration of the newly developed performance space. Mr. Imtiaz Ali inaugurated the amphitheatre, which has been proudly named the ‘J. Krishnamurti Amphitheatre’, honouring the great philosopher and educationist whose ideas continue to inspire holistic learning.

Colonels Academy observed Martyrs’ Day with reverence and patriotic fervour through a Special Assembly organised by Raman House at the Open Air Theatre on 30 January 2026. The assembly was conducted to remember and honour the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and martyrs.
The programme was gracefully anchored by Aadya Jha, setting a solemn and respectful tone. The event began with a bouquet presentation by Shivam Kumar and Shloka Prakash.
The assembly featured a thoughtfully curated sequence of performances:
An English speech by Namanya Srivastav, highlighting the significance of Martyrs’ Day and the values of sacrifice and patriotism.
A Hindi poem by Harshvardhan Singh, which deeply moved the audience.
A powerful skit and role-play depicting legendary freedom fighters: Akshansh Anand as Mahatma Gandhi, Vaibhav Sharma as Subhas Chandra Bose, Suhani Rathore as Rani Lakshmibai, Aarav Viraj as Khudiram Bose, and Ansh Raj as Bhagat Singh.
Another Hindi poem by Shivansi Raj, reflecting the spirit of national pride.

Colonels Academy celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great pride, respect, and patriotic fervour on 26 January at the school campus. The programme was organised to commemorate the historic day when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950, making India a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. Students, teachers, and guests gathered to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and to reaffirm their commitment to the nation.
Flag Hoisting and National Anthem
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Col. Pranav Aukta, Administrative Commandant of Katihar Military Station As the tricolour fluttered high, the entire gathering stood in solemn respect and sang the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere filled with unity and patriotism.
In his inspiring address, the Chief Guest shared experiences from his early days, recalling how participation in parades before senior officers helped him develop discipline and confidence. He emphasized that “only through regular practice can we achieve perfection” and encouraged students to work consistently, assuring them that continuous effort leads to success in every field of life. He wished all students a bright and successful future.
March Past
A colourful and well-coordinated march past was presented by students of the four houses—Tagore, Raman, Aryabhatta, and Gandhi. Led by the School Captain and Vice-Captain, the contingents marched smartly with their respective house flags. The Chief Guest and judges inspected the parade and highly appreciated the students’ discipline, coordination, and marching spirit.
Cultural Programme
The celebration continued with a vibrant cultural programme that included speeches, an English speech, poetry recitation, group song, and group dance performances by junior and senior students. Each performance beautifully showcased patriotism, unity, and love for the country.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. Thereafter, students were requested to remain seated for the flower display and science exhibition, which added further excitement and educational value to the Republic Day celebration at Colonels Academy.
Colonels Academy had the privilege of hosting a distinguished guest speaker, Prof. Dr. Shardendu, on Monday, 19 January 2026. The session proved to be highly enlightening and inspirational for students and teachers alike.
Prof. Dr. Shardendu is an esteemed alumnus of Netarhat School, Ranchi. He pursued his Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University and later completed his post-doctoral fellowship from Germany. He has served with distinction as the Head of the Department of Botany at Patna Science College, Patna University.
Prof. Dr. Shardendu has also worked as a visiting lecturer in countries such as Japan, America, and Germany, and has contributed his valuable ideas and academic insights to NCERT textbooks, playing a significant role in shaping school-level education in India.
While interacting with the students, Prof. Dr. Shardendu emphasized that today’s world is driven by information and technology. He highlighted that technology enables students to learn faster and more efficiently, but stressed that it must be used in a disciplined and responsible manner. He advised students to maintain regular study habits and remain focused on their goals.
He further shared that earlier students were largely inclined towards a few career options such as engineering, medicine, and civil services. However, in the present time, numerous opportunities exist in diverse fields including tourism, defence, sports, aviation, and management. He encouraged students to explore their interests and strengths before choosing a career path.
Prof. Dr. Shardendu also emphasized that parents and teachers should recognize the interests of students and guide them in the right direction. He highlighted the crucial role of schools in helping students realize their full potential.
The session concluded with Prof. Dr. Shardendu wishing all students the very best for their future. The interaction left a lasting impression and served as a strong source of motivation for the young learners of Colonels Academy.
Colonels Academy organized an enriching Educational and Recreational Trip to Siliguri (TRIP 2026) for the students of Class X on Sunday, 18 January 2026. The trip was thoughtfully planned to provide students with meaningful learning experiences along with recreation, cultural exposure, and relaxation.
Early Morning Departure
The journey began early in the morning, with students being picked up at 5:20 AM. The excitement and enthusiasm among the students set a positive tone for the day-long excursion.
Refreshing Visit to Dudhia
The first stop was Dudhia, a scenic hamlet near Siliguri, located along the banks of the Balason River. Surrounded by natural beauty and a peaceful environment, students enjoyed the cool weather, relaxed by the riverside, took photographs, and refreshed themselves before proceeding further.
Visit to North Bengal Science City
The group then visited North Bengal Science City at Matigara near Siliguri. This visit proved to be highly educational, as students explored interactive scientific exhibits and demonstrations. The experience helped them understand various scientific concepts through practical and engaging displays.
Lunch Break
After the Science City visit, students had lunch together at a nearby hotel. The lunch break allowed everyone to relax, recharge, and share their experiences from the morning activities.
Visit to ISKCON Temple, Siliguri
In the afternoon, the students visited the ISKCON Temple, Siliguri, also known as Sri Sri Radha Madhav Sundar Mandir. The calm and spiritual atmosphere of the temple, along with its museum and gardens, offered students a peaceful and culturally enriching experience.
Safe Return
After a full day of learning, sightseeing, and enjoyment, the group started the return journey. All students were safely dropped at their homes by nightfall.
